History
People known as Baptists have been meeting together in Kegworth since 1752. The first chapel opened for worship on 15th July 1755. Due to arguments over points of doctrine, the church soon closed but was re-started in 1760.
In 1851 it was felt that it was time to move the place of worship to another part of the town. So a chapel was built on our present site at a cost of £450, this opened for worship on Boxing Day 1815.
In 1866 the church held Jubilee Celebrations to mark the 50th birthday of the present building.
In 1960 the church celebrated the Bi-centenary of the Baptist Church in Kegworth (based on the year 1760 being the start point).
In 1986, Colin White was appointed as full time Minister. In 2002 a week of celebrations were held to mark 250 years of Baptist witness in Kegworth. Colin White retired in 2006.
