There is one God who is three equal persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt 3:15-17; John 10:30; 14:26; 2 Cor 13:14 )
-
The Lord Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary. He is fully God and lived a sinless life as a perfect man; He died on the cross in our place; He rose bodily from the dead and later ascended into Heaven; He makes intercession for his people; He will personally return in glory. (Luke 1:26-35; Matt 16:16;Heb 7:26; 2 Cor 5:15; Rom 8:34; Tit 2:11-14)
-
Nobody (except for Jesus Christ) fully obeys God (which is sin), and deserve God's wrath and condemnation. (Isa 53:6; John 3:36; Rom 3:23; 8:7-8)
-
We are saved only by God's grace, through faith in Jesus Christ and his death on the cross. Every true believer will be saved for eternity and all unbelievers are eternally lost at death. (Rom 8:22-26; Matt 25:46)
-
The Holy Spirit's work is essential in an unbeliever, leading to the new birth, repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. The spirit lives in and guides the believer, (John 3.:3-8; Rom 8:9.-11) and gives gifts which build up the believers (the belivers together are called the body of Christ) (1 Cor 12:4-11; Eph 4:11-13). The aim of all belivers is to remain filled by the spirit and to tell others of the Good News about Jesus Christ. (Eph 5:11, Math 28:19-20)
-
The scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as originally given, were from God and without error; they are our reference for all matters of faith and conduct, (2 Tim 3:15-17; 2 Pet 1:21)and are not to be added to in any way.
-
The true church is not a building, but all the genuine believers in Jesus Christ. Each believer is part of the priesthood. (Eph 4:4-6; 1 Peter 2:4-9)
-
Believer's baptism is a scriptural command but it does not save us, it is a public symbol that we have changed inside and has no meaning without that inward change. (Matt 28:19)
-
Believers are to remember the death of Jesus Christ by taking Communion. The bread and wine remain bread and wine, and are not a sacrifice for sins. (Luke 22:19-20; Cor 11:23-26)
-
We believe that, what we believe should affect the way we live. Our beliefs should particularly affect our relationships with one another in our church community.
-
As we are still sinners we often will not live up to this standard, but must keep admitting our sin to God and trying to live up to his standards.
